Introducing our newest team member, Shawn Graham! Shawn is serving in the role of Development Associate where he will be connecting with current and future donors and establishing new funds across the Community Foundation's five counties of service.

Shawn's career background in real estate and property management allowed him to build meaningful relationships, and that will be his priority while making a positive difference for members in the community.

In his free time, you can find Shawn volunteering at George F. Johnson Library teaching people how to play a wide-variety of tabletop games. He's also an aquarist with over 300 gallons of aquariums in his home!

May we share a story with you this #GivingTuesday?

This past July, in partnership with the Department of Defense and the U.S. Army (through the DoD’s Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) initiative), and the Southern Tier 8 Regional Planning and Economic Development Board, Delaware County set up a field hospital at Walton High School to provide a wide range of no-cost healthcare services. 1,079 people— and 313 animals—came out for quality, no-cost medical services. In all, 7,200 procedures with a total value of $585,719 in medical services was donated.

CFSCNY provided a grant of $10,000 to Delaware County toward “Healthy Delaware” as part of the Foundation’s spring grant cycle. The grant helped make it possible for these individuals and animals to receive medical care they otherwise would likely not have received.

In 2023, we have provided $2.8 million in grants to over 450 organizations across our five counties. Our work still continues!

Our donors commitment to investing in our region over the years has enabled hundreds of high school students to pursue their dreams through our many scholarship opportunities. Their deep passion for our community resulted in the eradication of a notorious food desert on Binghamton’s Northside. CFSCNY donors caring about the issues that impact so many of our neighbors has made it possible to support programs that have created innovative strategies to address houselessness, substance use disorder, and the mental health challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Your donation to the Community Foundation is an expression of your belief in the endless possibilities that are in store for our region.

Please consider a gift to a designated fund of your choice: cfscny.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/list
