About the Fund
In December, 2000, a few dedicated members of the Greene community began the Greene Chapter of Dollars for Scholars, originally established through Scholarship America. In late 2013 the Fund rebranded itself as The Greene Community Scholarship Fund and became a component fund of the Community Foundation. The advisory committee saw that the mission of the Community Foundation and their role as stewards of community resources and leaders in philanthropy in the region were complementary to the scholarship fund’s goals: to provide as many scholarships as possible to graduating seniors of Greene Central High School, to assist in their pursuit of college or trade-school education, and to offer non-traditional scholarship opportunities to adults seeking continuing education.
If you are a community member interested in contributing to the further education of both young people and adults in Greene, New York; we invite you to participate in our annual phone–a–thon in March, our golf tournament the third weekend of May, and our Annual Golf–Ball Drop on Homecoming Weekend each year.
You can also contribute by making your tax-deductible donation today!
